About Us – Energy Conservation – Connecticut
Possidento Electric, a family owned and operated business, was established in 1940. The business has been passed down through four generations, each adapting to the changes in the industry. Stephen W. Possidento assumed management in 2006 with every intention of carrying on the legacy his Great Grandfather, Rocco, started. Through a long working relationship and the mindset o bringing the company into a new era of opportunity for growth and the idea of continuing what started some 70 years ago, in 2007, a partnership was formed with Eric D. Therrien, and a new LLC was formed; Possidento Therrien Electrical Contractors, LLC (PTE).Since 2007, PTE has provided our customers with a wide range of services in the industrial and commercial markets. Large scale automation controls to low voltage networking, (a complete list can be found on our “service” page).
In our continuing efforts to adapt to changes in the industry we have created a new division of Energy Conservation; PTE Energy. PTE Energy, a division of Possidento Therrien Electrical Contractors, LLC, is a full service energy conservation company. PTE Energy is an approved contractor for the UI Small Business Energy Advantage Program. There are only 14 approved contractors for UI; we see it as an honor to be affiliated with UI and their commitment to conserve energy. Our firm is committed to energy conservation; we see it as a necessary measure for CT business and industry to be competitive.
In the process of trying to save energy for businesses big and small, we caught the fever of “going green”. The end result of saving energy is not only saving money but also doing right by the environment. Still working as a family business, with members who have children of our own, it became very important to us. We wanted to take this new fever of green to the next level.
Keep in mind that we are electrical contractors by trade, we can install energy conservation measures of all kinds that will have a positive end result for the environment, and we wanted more. I turned to my father, Mark C. Possidento P.E., who is retired after building one of the largest Environmental Consulting firms in New England. It was his father who was the electrical contractor. To make a long story short, my father has committed to PTE Energy and we now have a P.E. on staff.
Now, PTE Energy in our efforts to conserve energy do so with a close eye on the environmental implications and are able to make further environmental recommendations and produce reports on customers environmental foot prints. The unique, but simple combination of energy saving and environmental protection as one companies’ mission is how PTE Energy will conduct business, until we need to adapt to the industry again.
